Just finished "Darling Girls" by Sally Hepworth and picked up "Mad Mabel" this afternoon which I have been awaiting anxiously. Another to add to my new "obsession" with Sally H. What a great read. Have to admit I had to read the summary as I was a bit confused about one of the twists. Oh, boy!

I have been bingeing Sally Hepworth as I wait for "Mad Mabel. This one, “The Soulmate” is by far my favorite! Couldn't put it down, really. The characters were more likable to me and the story kept me on the edge.

"What Remains" by Carole Radziwill. We all know the story, the public part of the story. This very well written book takes us inside a tragic, tragic part of the family's history. All of a sudden the book showed up on a couple of posts and I picked it up and then could not put it down.
This one is different - it's *What Remains: A Memoir of Fate, Friendship & Love by Carole Radziwill*. Published in…
"The Book of Lost Names" by Kristin Harmel. I read this in the last 24 hours and could. not. put. it. down! I read "The Paris Daughter" almost 2 years ago and just couldn't read this right away. My advice though is if you read one and like it read the other fairly soon after. I picked it up 3 times and just couldn't...I highly recommend even though it is so chilling to read with such detail the atrocities when we are in such peril right now here in the US. 5 star!

"Jackie" by Dawn Tripp. I had to keep reminding myself that this was a novel. I couldn't wait to finish it obviously not because I didn't know what was going to happen but because I did. It was so beautifully written yet so many times tough to read. The magnificence of Jackie and Jack's minds, their banter, their knowledge was awe inspiring. I wanted to finish because I just couldn't "take" anymore and then I didn't want it to ever end.

I have been in a slump and I didn't want it to get the better of me like it did last time. A friend who happens to work in the library recommended a book that she thought would get me back to reading. We never, ever like the same books but I took the advice. As I was checking out the woman at the desk said she loved the book and the whole series. I told her that M.E. and I had such different tastes in books and she said she did and M.E. did, too. Well this little book written in 2002 did it! I liked it and loved the characters. Not going to read every one immediately but I now have the perfect fallback whenever the news won't let me concentrate. Thank you, M.E. "Maisie Dobbs" by Jacqueline Winspear.

"Lions of Fifth Avenue" by Fiona Davis. What a gift to read such a beautifully written book by a new to me author! I look forward to many more hours of reading her work. The writing, the story, all will stay with me. As an aside, I was so touched by the suggestion for all women to "own at least 4 bed jackets, one of quilted silk and another in velvet". My mother and I always had bed jackets in the 50s and 60s and wore them as we were reading in bed. Hadn't thought of that in years and it will stay with me now for a long time.

Today's book. "The Stolen Marriage" by Diane Chamberlain. Really liked this one! I have been bored by a few books lately until you finally get to the "twist", but this held my attention the entire time. Sad, sweet, and everything in between.

📚 Theo of Golden by Allen Levi ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow. What a book. ❤️ I’ll admit, the middle felt a little slow. I was interested, but it took its time. Then, once I finished and everything came together… just wow. I saw another reader say they wanted to reread it so they could pay closer attention to every page, because every page means something. Having finished it, I understand exactly what they meant. There are details I know I would appreciate differently a second time. What I loved most was the emotional connection and seeing the impact one person can have on so many lives. Such a beautiful reminder that how we treat people matters, sometimes far beyond what we ever get to see.
