📚 Theo of Golden by Allen Levi ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow. What a book. ❤️ I’ll admit, the middle felt a little slow. I was interested, but it took its time. Then, once I finished and everything came together… just wow. I saw another reader say they wanted to reread it so they could pay closer attention to every page, because every page means something. Having finished it, I understand exactly what they meant. There are details I know I would appreciate differently a second time. What I loved most was the emotional connection and seeing the impact one person can have on so many lives. Such a beautiful reminder that how we treat people matters, sometimes far beyond what we ever get to see.

He listens without judgment. People tell him their regrets, their hidden dreams, their grief. He truly _sees_ them and gently helps them - sometimes with wise words, sometimes with discreet financial help from his own considerable wealth.

Along the way he becomes best friends with the artist himself, Asher Glissen.

*Who is Theo really? (Spoiler)*

We learn Theo has known great loss - he lost his daughter. And he is hiding his true identity.

His full name is *Gamez Theophilus Zilavez*, known in the international art world as *Zila* - one of the most famous, reclusive artists of his generation. He came to Golden to live in anonymity.

At the end of the book, Theo dies in a tragic accident - he falls from his balcony while trying to stop an attack on two of his friends.

Only after his death is his identity as Zila revealed. He leaves a final letter revealing that Asher Glissen, the portrait artist, is actually his biological son, and leaves his entire art estate to him.
