The idea is that each one assumes 50% of household expenses.
For whom?
This mode of functioning is ideal for partners who have almost the same income or those who wish to operate with separate budgets rather than a common couple budget.
Functioning?
Expenses are added up and each pays half. The rest of the salary is managed individually by each partner.
Values prioritized?
Equality, respect for each one's financial means
Disadvantages?
In case of income difference, the two partners do not have the same standard of living which can lead to tensions. Each-for-oneself functioning which can go against team spirit.

Each assumes a percentage of common expenses calculated pro rata to his income.
For whom?
This mode of functioning is ideal if you have very different incomes or which varies from one month to another.
