Really couldn't put this one down. "One True Loves" by Taylor Jenkins Reid, author of "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo". Started last night finished this morning. There was quite a message, too, if you are open to it. I look forward to some of her others.

*The After:*

Emma is shattered. She quits her job, stops traveling, and moves back home to Acton. For years she is in deep grief.

To rebuild her life, she takes over her parents' tiny bookstore. Slowly, she starts to live again.

Years later, now in her *30s*, she runs into an old friend from high school - *Sam Kemper*. He was always quietly in love with her. Sam is the opposite of Jesse: steady, kind, safe, loves staying in one place, loves the bookstore life.

Emma falls in love again. It's a different kind of love - calm, not wild. They get engaged. It feels like her second chance at happiness.

*The Call:*

Two months after her engagement to Sam, Emma's phone rings.

It's Jesse.

He is alive. He survived the crash. He has been stranded on a deserted island for *more than 3 years*, trying to get home to her.
