5. Does a Thigh Gap Mean a Woman Is Skinny?
Not necessarily.
Although lower body fat can make a thigh gap more visible in some women, a visible gap does not automatically mean someone is underweight.
Some women have naturally wide-set hips or particular leg alignment that creates a gap even at a healthy body weight. Others may have relatively muscular legs and still retain a visible space between their thighs.
Conversely, a woman can be very slim and have her thighs touch when she stands.
This is why the thigh gap cannot be used as a reliable measure of body weight or body composition.
Weight alone does not fully describe health, either. A healthcare professional may consider a person’s medical history, physical examination, nutritional status, blood pressure, laboratory results, activity
The appearance of the inner thighs provides very little information about these broader measures.
