I have been bingeing Sally Hepworth as I wait for "Mad Mabel. This one, “The Soulmate” is by far my favorite! Couldn't put it down, really. The characters were more likable to me and the story kept me on the edge.

The woman - *Amanda, 50 years old* - falls to her death.

Gabe says: "She jumped. I couldn't stop her."

But Pippa's memory nags at her: _He was holding his hands the way you would if you'd pushed someone._

And when the police arrive, Pippa learns a huge lie: *Gabe knew Amanda.* He said she was a stranger. Why did he lie?

Was it suicide? Was it murder? Was she pushed?

Amanda's husband *Max* arrives in town and is convinced his wife would NEVER kill herself. He demands justice.

*Told by Two Women:*

The book alternates between:

1. *Pippa - Then and Now.* Now, as she is interrogated by police and wonders if her soulmate is a killer. Then, as she remembers how they met, their perfect love story, and the dark cracks: Gabe losing jobs, moving suddenly, his family history of mental illness and suicide, and her own affair.

2. *Amanda - Speaking from beyond the grave.* In her chapters, we learn why she _really_ went to the cliff that night. She did not go there to die. She went there because she discovered a terrible secret about her husband Max, and about Gabe.
