Gabe has *bipolar disorder* that was undiagnosed and then misdiagnosed. That is key to understanding what he did and didn't do.
There's also a hidden *USB drive*, a covered-up shooting in the past, and a family secret: *Max is actually Gabe's biological uncle*, who has been secretly protecting him his whole life.
*The Ending (Spoiler):*
Amanda's death was not simple murder. Max eventually confesses he lied to the police to clear Gabe, and then steps off the same cliff himself, because of his own family legacy of mental illness.
One year later: Pippa and Gabe are separated. Their daughters inherit Max's estate. Pippa is finally learning to live independently, not as half of a "soulmate," but as herself.
*Theme:*
It's not really about who pushed who. It's about marriage. How well can you ever know your soulmate? How many lies do we tell ourselves to keep love alive?
